Dec 1stMartha and Don Romeo Scholarship Hitchcock County Courthouse
The Nebraska Association of Fair Managers will award a $500 scholarship to one qualifying 4-H male and one qualifying 4-H female who are graduating seniors in the State of Nebraska and who plan to continue with post high school eduation. The two scholarships will be awarded at the NAFM annual convention held in January. Applications may be picked up at the Extension Office and are due back by December 1st.
Dec 1stStatts Custom Awards Scholarship Hitchcock County Courthouse
Staats Custom Awards will be offering a $500 scholarship to qualify FFA and or 4-H graduating senior who are planning their post-high school education. The scholarship will be awarded at the Nebraska Association of Fair Managers annual convention held in January. Applications may be picked up at the Extension Office and are due back by December 1st, 2009.
6:30 pm Dec 3rdHoliday heart & Hands Program
Make plans to attend the Holiday Heart & Hands program December 3rd in Ogallala. This fun, educational program will provide inspiration and ideas for 4-H volunteers, parents and youth professionals. Program registration fee is $10 with pre-registration, $15 at the dorr. Pre-registrations are due by November 30th. Program will begin at 6:30 MST.
9:00 am Dec 4thCorn/Soybean Profitability Workshop Hitchcock County Fairgrounds
This workshop is designed to improve corn and boybean profits. You will learn about: crop systems decisions, equipment and residue considerations, cellulose to fuel, crop residue values, growing crops for better diodiesel, 2010 corn/soybean production costs, recognizing and managing corn/soybean diseases, marketing for profit and evaluating cropping systems.
6:00 pm Dec 8thChase County 4-H Council Meeting Chase County Extension Office
The next 4-H Council meeting will be held on Tuesday, December 8th at 6:00 pm MST at the UNL Extension Office. Items to be discussed include appointing 2010 directors and youth, fundraising supper at school, livestock release at fair and need for shooting sports leaders. Please notify the office if you would like to add an tem to the agenda.
