Description: Are you interested in installing a rain garden for a client or on your own property, but you don’t know where to start? This workshop will take you through all of the steps from planning, design, implementation, and maintenance. Participants will receive the information required to design and build a residential sized rain garden. This presentation is dedicated to showing how to make it simple and yet have a high success rate for a functional rain garden. Topics Discussed: Stormwater runoff in residential landscapes; rain garden definition, how they work, case studies on rain garden importance, basics of design, installation, plants, aesthetics, and maintenance concerns; along with a review of other rain harvesting methods. Who Should Attend: Landscape designers, Master Gardener Volunteers, landscaping foremen, horticulturalists, and those interested in building a residential rain garden.
