All 4-H volunteers, volunteers from other agencies, youth development professionals, parents and staff are invited to attend the upcoming Holiday Heart & Hands program. This educational program will provide ideas and inspiration for those who work with youth and will be presented by UNL Extension 4-H Youth Development Educators. Five program sites are scheduled across the state. Program topics include Digital Storytelling, Engaging Older Youth, RX for Text Bullying, and Idea Stations. Here is your chance to attend a workshop and create wonderful centerpieces, wreaths and anything else you can imagine. Teri Pond-Svoboda is putting on the workshop again this year. Registration fee is $25.00. The workshop is held at the Cowles Legion Hall on Thursday, December 3rd from 9 am to 3 pm. Space is limited so contact Donna now!

A program for students, beginning farmers and their parents. Program costs $300 for four family members. $35 per person after four members. These fees cover instruction, handout materials, meeting room costs, refreshment breaks, Saturday continental breakfast and most meals. The program falls on two weekends: December 11 & 12, 2009 and January 8 & 9, 2010. Registration received after November 24th, 2009 will be charged an additional $25.00. The Crop Production Clinics will feature presentations from extension specialists and educators on soil fertility, soil water and irrigation management, crop production, pesticide safety, and disease, insect and weed pest management. See program locations (menu to the left) for specific presentation titles. Program topics are tailored to meet the needs of cropping systems in different parts of the state, and vary by location.
