Dave Titterington and Dan Wheeler will talk about birds that typically can be found in the Lincoln area and how you can create welcoming spaces for birds through types of plants, plant placement, water features and other garden techniques.

Titterington is founder of the Wild Bird Habitat Stores, a family owned and operated business that opened in 1993. Today, Wild Bird Habitat has two locations in Lincoln operated by Dave, his wife Linda and daughter Katie, specializing in backyard bird feeding, bird conservation, environmental education and outdoor birding recreation. He is well known in the area as a birding extraordinaire.

Wheeler is professor emeritus and former department chair of Agricultural Leadership, Education and Communications at UNL. For the past five years, he and Titterington have co-taught a six-week birding class for UNL’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI).
