VJE is a highly select ensemble that sings traditional and contemporary vocal jazz arrangements with rhythm section. The group performs on and off campus each semester. Any University of Nebraska–Lincoln student can audition, including freshmen, graduate students, and non-music majors. We are looking for singers who have:
– a compelling, stylish voice
– very strong ears
– some sight-reading ability
– some piano/instrumental background
– experience playing or singing jazz
– experience singing in a small group
(not all required, but the more you have, the better!)
VJE will rehearse Mondays/Wednesdays 5 pm-6:15 pm plus weekly sectionals.

Sign-up sheet and instructions are posted by the door of Room 239 in Westbrook Building. This audition is friendly and relaxed. Come sing!
