The South Asian Student Association will hold a Henna Night at 8:30 p.m. Nov. 9 in the Gaughan Multicultural Center (room posted).

The event will feature henna tattoos at two sizes: large for $5 and small for $3.

Henna is a small flowering shrub that is dried, ground into a paste and applied onto the skin. The process is traditionally known as Mehndi, but most people know it as henna.

Every culture and region in the Middle East and Asia uses Henna tattoos in their own unique way. In India, the tattoos are commonly used in weddings and are painted on the bride to symbolize joy, beauty, spiritual awakening and offering. Today, many cultures use Henna for festivals and rituals.
