A free, three-part webinar for eighth- to 12th-grade teachers and after school program leaders is 4 p.m. Nov. 20.

The program will feature information about how to engage students in learning about the effects of Emerald Ash Borer on Nebraska communities and forests.

Participants will receive the nationally recognized Project Learning Tree Focus on Forests curriculum, as well as a kit of supplies (valued at $100) to help teachers carry out the lessons.

The curriculum consists of lessons on how to measure forest and tree health, how forests are managed, forest fires, and invasive species. Students will also be given a chance to develop a digital resource to be distributed by the Nebraska Forest Service.
