Peace Corps Talk: “Little Hut on the Savannah”

Nebraska alumna Annette Hynes will discuss her volunteer work with the Peace Corps at 7:30 p.m. March 8 in Manter Hall, Room 402A.

Hynes served four years with the Peace Corps, three in Kenya teaching high school and one year in South Africa training biology teachers. Her talk will explore family life in the Kamba and Zulu tribes of sub-Saharan Africa.

The talk is free and open to the public.

Hynes is an Oshkosh, Nebraska, native who graduated from Nebraska with a Bachelor of Sciences degree in biological sciences and mathematics. She earned a doctorate in biological oceanography from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2009.

Hynes is a microbial oceanographer at the University of Georgia.
