Join us for “A Precarious Pathway: A Child’s Negotiation of Colorism, Racial Identity, and Poverty,” an informative and captivating presentation and discussion about the complex interaction among race, color, poverty, class, family, and development in the early childhood experience.

Dr. Linda Burton, Director of the Center for Child and Family Policy and James B. Duke Professor of Sociology at Duke University, will be presenting a case study of a young boy and his family that reflects a number of relevant themes in education today.
