Science Slam is a campus-wide contest where graduate and undergraduate researchers from ALL SCIENTIFIC DISCIPLINES are challenged to communicate their work in short, dynamic, and engaging presentations, with a winner to be decided by the audience.

Nebraska MRSEC welcomes Dr. Katherine (Katie) Mack (@AstroKatie), keynote speaker and emcee for this year’s Science Slam! Mack is a theoretical astrophysicist who studies a range of questions in cosmology, the study of the universe from beginning to end. She currently holds the position of assistant professor of physics at North Carolina State University, where she is also a member of the Leadership in Public Science Cluster.

Katie’s talk is free and open to the public.

If you would like to attend the Science Slam following the keynote talk, from 12:00-1:30 p.m., please register for a seat in the audience at go.unl.edu/slam. There is no registration deadline, but space is limited, so sign up now!
