Teachers from secondary schools and UNL will collaborate to host a public pedagogy showcase on June 1, 9:30-11:30 AM at The Bay Coffee Shop. These teachers participated in Husker Writers, a year-long public pedagogy initiative funded by the Coordinating Commission on Post-secondary Education. Each teacher developed an innovative public writing project, ranging from taking students to the capitol to present research directly to state senators to writing creative non-fiction based on the memories of nursing home residents. Attendees will learn about innovative approaches to teaching that have an impact beyond the classroom, along with opportunities to be involved with Husker Writers in the future.
