Dr. Joanie Hevel, associate professor, Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry, Utah State University, will present the seminar “Redox regulation of PRMT1.”
The Hevel Lab investigates the molecular recognition of substrates, mechanism and regulation of protein arginine methyltransferases (PRMTs). Most recently we have discovered a novel regulatory mechanism involving a pair of cysteine residues on PRMT1 that acts as a redox switch to control activity.
