This one hour brown bag session will provide an overview of opportunities and support of external grant development for faculty and graduate students in the social and behavioral sciences.

The session will address these broad questions:

• What supports are available at UNL for identifying grant opportunities?
• What supports are available at UNL for building grant teams?
• How does grant funding work at UNL? (GRA funding, course buy-outs, summer salaries, etc.)
• What kinds of external grant opportunities exist for social and behavioral science faculty and graduate students?

We will also be introducing a new SBSRC initiative for identifying and developing faculty interest groups and grant teams.

This session would also serve as a preliminary foundation (sort of a Grants 101) in preparation for participation in the ORED grant writing workshop planned for later in the Spring semester.
