Unique lunch and learn event exploring the history of the Japanese integration into Nebraska

Descendants of the waves of Japanese immigrants to urban eastern Nebraska have both blended into the fabric of this state and have continued to maintain aspects of their culture for over 100 years. Join Dr. Sharon Ishii-Jordan for this fascinating lunch and learn experience exploring the historical roots of these Japanese- Nebraskans and their descendants.

Dr. Sharon Ishii-Jordan is an emerita professor of education and associate dean from Creighton University with a professional background in leadership and education (disabilities and English language learning). As a sansei, she has taught in Japan and the U.S., conducts teacher workshops on the US incarceration camps for Japanese, serves on the board of the Omaha chapter of the Japanese American Citizens League, and teaches traditional Japanese dance to young girls.
