Forensic Entomology is the scientific study of insects and their use in legal investigations. Forensic insect evidence is important for investigations of civil, criminal, administrative, and government national security issues. This presentation and short video will examine some of these issues, with a primary focus on how insect succession on decomposing remains can assist with criminal cases.

Discussion with Erin Bauer, UNL entomology department; Larry Barksdale, UNL forensics department; Justine LaViolette, UNL entomology graduate student, and Emma Sidel, UNL forensic science undergraduate student.
