The University of Nebraska has had a unique and significant impact on grassland ecology, range science, and grassland science. This was because of highly motivated and dedicated people who taught, mentored, and conducted research. It all began with the famous botanist Charles E. Bessey in 1884, followed by Clements, Weaver, and Keim, to name a few. Their history and the current faculty will be discussed in this presentation.
