Graeme Brooker’s “Radical Heritages” lecture examines how building reuse and the design of the interior can address issues around spatial futures, climate change and the formation of inside spaces. He will use his work and the work of his students with which to illustrate the talk.

Graeme Brooker is Professor of Interior Design and Head of Interiors at The Royal College of Art, London. He has led interior programs in institutions such as Cardiff, Manchester, Brighton, Middlesex and the Royal College of Art. In 2015-16, in recognition of this work, he was awarded one of only 55 annual HEA National Teaching Fellowships, and in 2019 was awarded the Principal Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy.

OUR WORK / YOUR WORK – Designing Political Engagement is a lecture series that explores design and planning as a product of political debate. It seeks discourse on the consequence of our practice upon the built environment for generations to come.
