Prior to joining the Department of Grain Science and Industry in early 2015, Dr. Smith worked for nine years as vice president and Research Fellow for Conagra Foods’ Research, Quality and Innovation team in Omaha, Nebraska. Prior to that, he worked for fourteen years at Sara Lee Foods in a variety of technical leadership roles. The majority of Dr. Smith’s industry career has centered on product development, translation of scientific discovery into product benefits, food safety practice, and policy development.
