DESCRIPTION:Reading Comics\: Select Books from the Dan Howard Collection sh
 owcases a sample of the limited edition and inscribed comics-related books
  and memorabilia available in Archives & Special Collections. Items on dis
 play in Love South lower level were collected and donated by Dan Howard an
 d range from Cartoons for Victory to The Way of the Cross\: An Interpretat
 ion. Although the subject matter varies\, the books all convey the extraor
 dinary narrative power of images. An emeritus professor of art and an acco
 mplished artist\, Professor Howard has amassed an important collection of 
 comic book art\, reproductions\, and reprints. His donation allows others 
 to continue learning from and appreciating these unique works. Reading Com
 ics will be on display starting on March 1st through the end of the spring

DESCRIPTION:When the Varsity Chorus gathers on stage\, it’s much more tha
 n a concert. The choir has been transformed into one of the finest of its 
 kind in the country. These enthusiastic singers achieve a rich and full so
 und\, and their repertoire is unique and varied. While focusing primarily 
 on music of the standard male chorus repertoire\, they also bring new lite
 rature into this musical idiom with interesting new commissions and exciti
 ng multi-cultural works.\n\nUniversity Chorale is a women’s vocal ensemb
 le that performs a varied repertoire of soprano/alto literature. Through t
 he study and performance of diverse musical expressions that represent a v
 ariety of historical and cultural perspectives\, students participating in
  University Chorale develop the knowledge\, skills\, interests\, values\, 
 and attitudes associated with individual and ensemble musicianship and art
 istry. \n\nThe Chamber Singers is UNL’s vocal chamber ensemble and is in
 tended to provide the highest level of choral chamber-specific performance
  experience for graduate and undergraduate singers at the Glenn Korff Scho
 ol of Music and throughout UNL. Open to all majors\, the choir explores a 
 broad range of repertoire specializing in literature for unaccompanied and
  contemporary small vocal chamber ensembles including works from early mus

DESCRIPTION:The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Harp Studio presents a recit
 al on March 15 at 5\:30 p.m. in the Glenn Korff School of Music Westbrook 
 Recital Hall.  Please join the UNL Harp Studio to enjoy beautiful harp mu
 sic\, discover the fascinating history of the harp\, and experience some o
 f the many sound colors and effects possible on this glorious instrument.
    \n\n\nThe music of Welsh\, French and Spanish composers will be feat
 ured in the recital. Solo performances will include the lively Basque Danc
 e\, “Viejo Zortico” by Jesus Guridi\,   “The Minstrel’s Adieu to
  His Native Land” by John Thomas\, and Claude Debussy’s “Sacred and 
 Profane Dances”.  An informal demonstration of the special effects poss
 ible on harp will be showcased by a performance of Carlos Salzedo’s “C
 hanson Dans la Nuit”.  The UNL harp trio will also perform a variety of
  selections\, culminating in “Great Day” by Nancy Gustafson.  All UNL
  Alumni harpists are invited to join in this performance of “Great Da
 y”.  A rehearsal will take place just prior to the recital\, and both p
 edal and lever harp parts are available.  Alumni interested in joining th
