The UNL Symphony Orchestra presents Student Soloist Night on Thursday, March 19 at 7:30 PM in Kimball Recital Hall. The program features Nebraska’s oldest orchestra with winners of the 2019-20 GKSOM Undergraduate and Graduate Solo Competitions, performing works by Carl Maria von Weber (Overture to Der Freischütz), Antonín Dvorák (Violin Concerto, movement 1), Edward Elgar (Cello Concerto, movement 4), Scott McAllister (X Concerto for clarinet), John Psathas (Djinn for marimba), and Paul Hindemith (Symphonic Metamorphosis on Themes of Carl Maria von Weber).

Members of the Symphony Orchestra include students from throughout the university. The ensemble’s objectives are to prepare and present a wide variety of repertoire including chamber, symphonic, and operatic masterworks, and to maintain professional standards of musicianship and etiquette within a collegial and supportive educational atmosphere. The Symphony Orchestra is one of the Glenn Korff School of Music’s most active performing organizations, presenting concerts both on and off campus throughout the academic year.

Tickets: Adults $5; Students/Seniors $3
