Anti-Perfectionism: How to Roll with the Punches During a Pandemic
Workshop open to all UNL faculty
10:00 am –
11:30 am
Zoom Room

This session will begin by providing a few “anti-perfectionist” teaching strategies that involve figuring out when a teaching goal matters and when it might be appropriate to accept a less-than-perfect outcome. We will address such topics as when and how to model an anti-perfectionist attitude for your students, how to roll with the punches when technical problems arise, how to reduce the scope of your teaching goals to focus on those that are explicitly essential, and why inclusivity should be one of your non-negotiable goals.
Following this instructional portion of the session, we will hold an interactive workshop where participants will think through what anti-perfectionism might look like for them. Participants will share success stories and brainstorm about how to lessen frustrations. The instructional portion of the session (but not the interactive workshop) will be recorded and posted online for those who cannot attend.
Questions about the session should be emailed to efrench6@unl.edu.
Zoom information is provided after registration.
