Course Mapping: Applying Backward Design to your Course Planning

This workshop is open to all faculty at UNL.
The goal of this workshop is to guide participants through the backward design process to ensure that each aspect of their course design aligns with their overall goals.
The work will begin before the Zoom session, with the participants completing course mapping activities. After reviewing a variety of backward design resources, participants will brainstorm about their course goals and objectives and identify assignments and learning materials that closely align with those objectives.
With these materials in hand, participants will meet at the scheduled workshop time to discuss their course maps and offer feedback. Instructional designers from the Center for Transformative Teaching will provide guidance and help participants avoid common pitfalls of course planning. Questions about the session should be emailed to bwilson7@unl.edu.
