The university has a strong commitment to ensuring that diversity and inclusiveness are essential parts of all classrooms. In online and hybrid environments, it can be challenging to recognize and support students from underrepresented populations.
This workshop will share several strategies you can use to model inclusivity and establish a respectful and supportive classroom culture, where all students feel comfortable fully participating in course activities. Strategies covered will include using group work to ensure students in online and hybrid courses feel a sense of community, using inclusive language when setting course policies regarding online interactions, and using anonymous grading to reduce the effect of implicit biases.
Questions about the session should be emailed to aort@unl.edu.
Zoom information is provided after registration.
