Join us for PoePoe’s story “Never Forget.” PoePoe (Lanetta) is a member of the Karen ethnic group from Burma. She lived for six years in Burma’s Karen state as an Internal Displaced Person (IDP) and spent 16 years in a refugee camp in Thailand.
Her first home in the U.S. was in New York State, moving there in 2006 and then relocated to Lincoln in 2017. PoePoe works at the Asian Community and Culture Center as the Karen Community Advocate and the Health Programs Coordinator.
