Join the Office of Sustainability as we explore the intersections of climate change and systemic racism. Learn the history of systemic racism in the United States and the environmental movement’s exclusion of marginalized voices. Through conversation with UNL students who have firsthand experience living with and organizing around these issues we will paint a picture of how intersectional advocacy and solutions can create positive change on our campus and in our communities.
We will kick off the event with a short video sharing the story of the North Omaha coal plant and how the community came together to shut it down. Followed by an interactive panel discussion.
