UNL OPERA PRESENTS
THE CUNNING LITTLE VIXEN
Leoš Janácek
A wonderful story about the one-ness of man and nature, and the eternal cyclical regeneration of life, love, and hope.
The production is going to be OUTDOORS on the patio of Kimball Recital Hall. Fully amplified, you’ll be able to see and hear the opera from anywhere on the lawn of the HLCFPA quad.
Janácek’s glorious score will be performed by the Lincoln Chamber Society, conducted by DMA student Rebecca Nederhiser, recipient of the Glenn Korff Distinguished Graduate Artist/Scholar Award. A large projection screen will unfold the story through a series of illustrations designed by JCSTF alum David Tousley. Delightful puppetry for the many animal characters has been created by Andy Park (Artistic Director of the Nebraska Repertory Theatre) and JCSTF alum Jill Hibbard. Staged by UNL Director of Opera William Shomos, the 90-minute opera will be sung in English, with projected supertitles.
There will be no charge for the event. Check back closer to the performance date to get the most current information regarding audience protocols.
