The University of Nebraska–Lincoln Cellobration is open to cellists of all ages and will be hosted by Dr. Karen Becker, professor of cello in the Glenn Korff School of Music. This year’s event will take place in a virtual setting. Activities will include stretching for cellists, warm-ups, technique class, a workshop on how to improve sight reading skills, a final performance given by the UNL Cello Choir, select soloists from the UNL cello studio, Dr. Karen Becker, and guest cellist Dr. Ruth Boden. Students will have the opportunity to work with Dr. Boden, cello professor at Washington State University in a class on improvisation and alternative styles, as well as a masterclass. Students will be considered for the class based on a video submission of their playing. Come join our day of cellobrating. The event is free and open to all cellists, cello teachers, and cello enthusiasts!

Contact Dr. Becker at kbecker2@unl.edu for more information.
