A Zoom seminar will be presented by Lee Cohnstaedt, research entomologist at the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Incorporating people into research has never been more important than it is today as the general public becomes increasingly skeptical of science and unwilling to fund research. The Invasive Mosquito Project (IMP) (www.citizenscience.us) is a citizen science project aimed at educating K-12 students about the hazards of mosquitoes and vector-borne diseases, although the lessons learned from this project can be applied to any research project. In addition to lesson plans, the IMP also provides mentoring to students and class projects.
