One Health Concepts and Healthy Water for a Changing World

Part of the One Health approach for Global Healthy Water series: USA & Latin American Perspectives

Date: Time: 4:00 pm
Contact: Amber Poythress, (402) 472-5175,
The way mankind is facing the challenges of the world’s water and food supply have had a major impact on human, animal and environmental health. The emergence of pandemics, burnings and multi-resistant bacteria is directly related to poor water and ecosystem management. The One Health concept emerges as an efficient alternative to address these problems.

These interdisciplinary teams work together to effectively detect, respond, and prevent outbreaks of zoonoses, food safety problems, antimicrobial resistance, among others global threats.

Session Moderator: Dr Marcelo Beltrão Molento, UFPR (Federal University of Paraná, Brazil).
