Multispectral imaging systems on Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) and aerial and satellite platforms are commonly used in field crop monitoring applications. Limited spatial resolution, weather dependence, and discrete data collection are the disadvantages of these methods. Advancements in the low power consuming computation and long-range communication (such as LoRa) technologies enabled the implementation of sensor networks that continuously monitor environmental and plant physiological parameters.
