This workshop, “Quantitative Literary Studies in Action: Abolitionist Networks,” will be led by our 2020-2021 Uncommon DH Critic, Anne Klein, associate professor, Emory University. The workshop will present a behind the scenes look at the research process involved in the publication of a recent article in the field of quantitative literary studies. The article, “Abolitionist Networks,” spanning the fields of English and computer science, employs quantitative text modeling in order to explore the role of women newspaper editors in the abolitionist movement of the nineteenth-century United States.
Professor Klein joined us for two earlier events: a formal lecture and informal follow-up discussion on March 18.
