Cooking with Communities

Cooking with Communities is a cultural food demonstration that aims to educate participants about how food is an integral part of our cultural communities. During this session, Chef Charles Brewer, Sturfast Carribbean & African Grill, will explain the significance of the food he’s cooking, while discussing his journey to owning a business in Lincoln, NE. Assistant Professor of Practice Sabine Zempleni of Nutrition and Health Sciences will also lead a discussion around food insecurities and marginalized populations.

Recipes will include:
Jerk chicken with sauce
Jollof rice (an African version of jambalaya)
Pineapple mango coleslaw

This event will be held online. Sponsored by the Student Affairs Student Advisory Board for Racial Justice, Equity & Inclusion and Campus Recreation.
