The National Strategic Research Institute (NSRI) and the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Institute for Agriculture and Natural Resources (IANR) established the Collaborative Biosecurity Laboratory in Morrison Life Sciences Center to help foster a more collaborative partnership around several key topics important to both organizations: Agricultural Security and Defense, Biological Defense, and Pandemic Preparedness.

By locating this NSRI/IANR laboratory within the Nebraska Center for Virology (NCV) and the Morrison Life Sciences Center, we hope to grow many collaborative relationships in this area that complement and leverage the existing expertise in NCV and advance UNL’s goal of creating a more robust molecular life sciences and biomedical engineering hub with virology at its core. This seminar will be an introduction to NSRI and how it works with the University, an overview of some initial programs and people in the lab, and how we hope to create collaborative opportunity with this capability.
