Murrell holds degrees from Stanford, the University of Nairobi in Kenya, and a PhD in English from UNL. She is a renowned jazz and blues singer in Lincoln, NE, and has performed as an actress with the NE Repertory Theater. Murrell is a published author and host at NET Radio.
