A native of Hamilton County, NE and alum of UNL, Timothy Schaffert is Susan J. Rosowski Professor of English, Women’s & Gender Studies and Director of the UNL Creative Writing Program. He is the author of 6 novels, including The Swan Gondola (2014) set in the 1898 Omaha World’s Fair, and most recently, The Perfume Thief (Penguin Random House International), set in Paris on the eve of WWII. Schaffert is Co-editor of ZERO STREET, the LGBTQ+ fiction series at U of Nebraska Press.
