The Nebraska Center for Executive and Professional Development launches the new Nonprofit Management Institute this fall. Serving Nebraskan nonprofit professionals, the institute offers three executive certificate programs in management, finance and fundraising to help nonprofit leaders refine the skills they need to make a larger and lasting impact on the communities they serve.
Financial management is key to the success of nonprofits. Held online during the mornings of Oct. 4, 5, 11 and 12, the Nonprofit Financial Management Executive Certificate Program focuses on reading and interpreting financial statements and IRS Form 990. Explore long-term financial planning and capital structure, as well as effective methods of preparing operating and cash budgets.
Nationally known experts facilitate the programs. Led by Jim Croft, principal of JW Croft Consulting Group who served as executive vice president and chief financial officer for Chicago’s Field Museum and teaches nonprofit management in the MBA@Nebraska program and for the Kellogg School of Management Center for Nonprofit Management at Northwestern University, program facilitators include: Bela Barner, MBA; Matthew W. Charlton, Ph.D.; Ashley Ramchandani, MPP; Katy Scrogin, Ph.D.; and Patti Tuomey, Ed.D. Their past work experience spans leading organizations such as churches, schools and museums as well as nonprofits like the American Red Cross and the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
Registration is $650 per attendee. To register, visit: https://business.unl.edu/nonprofit. Cost assistance opportunities are available. Email emre@unl.edu for more information.
