Students, staff, and faculty are invited to drop in for a visit to the Student Legal Services (SLS) office in the Nebraska Union, which recently reopened after a much-needed renovation.
During the open house, students have the chance to be introduced to SLS’s three licensed attorneys and staff and become acquainted with the most common legal issues UNL students are likely to face, including:
• Landlord Tenant issues
• Consumer issues
• Family issues
• Criminal Law issues.
Light refreshments will be offered for guests, too.

ABOUT STUDENT LEGAL SERVICES
A program of ASUN Student Government, the Student Legal Services (SLS) employs licensed attorneys who provide legal advice or court representation in civil and criminal areas of the law to registered University of Nebraska–Lincoln students. All SLS services are free for UNL students - the program is funded by student fees.
Many times, a student’s legal question can be handled by consultation; other cases may require negotiations and court appearances. SLS cannot represent students against other students or against the University, yet can provide referrals in those cases.
Students can request an appointment and learn more about SLS services at https://go.unl.edu/asun-sls
