Neurodivergent students make up a growing percentage of college students, but they are not always well-served with traditional teaching methods. This workshop will explore the ways in which neurodivergence may impact the learning experiences of students. We will discuss the fundamentals of neurodivergence with an emphasis on autism and ADHD. We will critically examine how well common pedagogical practices serve neurodivergent students and identify teaching strategies that support the strengths of neurodivergent learners. Please bring an electronic device with you to the workshop.
