Nebraska Public Transit Week is celebrated April 9-15. It serves an opportunity for all Nebraskans to show support for their local transit system and to experience the benefits of public transportation for themselves. This week is dedicated to raising awareness of public transportation across the state for the past eight years. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic decreasing Americans’ need to travel in 2020, public transit proved its essential nature in Nebraska with over 2.7 million passenger boarding’s. Transit providers traveled over 5.7 million miles to get Nebraskans where they needed to go.
