The Office of Research and Economic Development invites you to an informative virtual session for UNL faculty who may be interested in conducting research that falls along the translational science spectrum, (https://ncats.nih.gov/about/about-translational-science/spectrum) including preclinical, clinical, implementation, and public health research. A goal of the session is to introduce the Great Plains IDeA-CTR (https://gpctr.unmc.edu/) as a resource for faculty interested in this type of research.

This virtual session will be on Thursday, March 7 at 11:00 a.m.

The session is particularly geared toward faculty who are open to exploring how their research interests may fit with translational science focusing on human health and disease. Faculty looking to collaborate on a team to do this kind of work are also encouraged to attend.

The goals of the virtual session include:
• Presenting an introduction to the IDeA-CTR, its programs and resources available to UNL faculty researchers, and how it can help network faculty looking for collaborators across its partner institutions.
• Clarifying the translational science spectrum and how to think about research alignment with this spectrum, and in turn, eligibility for IDeA-CTR resources.
• Providing a chance for conversation about UNL faculty needs and questions related to pursuing research at various stages on the translational science spectrum.

Examples of resources available through the Great Plains IDeA-CTR include pilot funding, early career investigator programs, mentorship training, mini-sabbatical funding to support knowledge acquisition, and research studios to facilitate pre-submission grant reviews.
