SUMMARY:Children’s Art Exhibit by the Ruth Staples Child Development Lab
 School
STATUS:CONFIRMED
DESCRIPTION:Loft Gallery is open 7 a.m. to midnight Monday-Friday\, as well
  as 9 a.m. to midnight Saturday & Sunday.\n\nDuring the month of March\, t
he gallery features an assortment of artwork created by the children of th
e Ruth Staples Child Development Lab School. \n\n\nSTATEMENT FROM THE RUTH
STAPLES CHILD DEVELOPMENT LAB SCHOOL\:\n\nThis collection is a celebratio
n of childhood - of possibility\, belonging\, and the extraordinary capabi
lities of young children. Through loose parts\, open-ended materials\, and
invitations to explore\, our children have engaged in deep thinking\, pro
 blem-solving\, storytelling\, and meaning-making. What you see displayed h
ere is not simply art\; it is evidence of children constructing knowledge\
, expressing identity\, and connecting to the world around them.\n\nAt our
school\, we hold the belief that all children are capable - capable of co
mplex ideas\, capable of collaboration\, capable of beauty\, capable of sh
aping their communities. When given time\, trust\, and thoughtfully prepar
ed environments\, children reveal powerful theories about how the world wo
rks and who they are within it.\n\nThis gallery is our gift to the public\
: an invitation to slow down and see childhood with new eyes. The material
 s may be simple - wood pieces\, fabric\, light\, shadow\, wire\, paper - y
et in the hands of children they become languages for expressing big ideas
about belonging\, future\, and hope.\n\nChildren are not only preparing f
or the future\; they are the future. To honor their work is to honor their
rights - the right to wonder\, to create\, to take risks\, to be heard\,
and to experience a protected\, unhurried childhood.\n\nAs you move throug
h this gallery\, we invite you to reflect\:\nWhat becomes possible when we
truly believe children are capable of anything?\nHow might we\, as a comm
unity\, protect and nurture the sacred space of childhood?\n\nThank you fo
 r witnessing their thinking.
