Night of Listening is an interactive panel series for students, staff and faculty to learn about the nonprofit sector and the power of civic engagement. Huskers will hear directly from nonprofit leaders about their missions, how to get involved and the challenges facing our communities. Huskers will also discover the importance of civic engagement, understanding how their engagement can influence policy, support meaningful causes and shape the future of their communities.
Night of Listening will be held on March 11th located in the Nebraska Union Chimney Rock room from 4pm to 5pm. The event will feature Pizza and Pepsi products. RSVP by visiting NvolveU: https://unl.campuslabs.com/engage/event/12022634
Featured Nonprofit Panelist:
* Jada Wraalstad - Lincoln Lighthouse
* Suzanne Hatfield - Aging Partners
* Jean McGuire - League of Women Voters - Lincoln
The series provides a unique look into potential career paths, volunteer opportunities and will help huskers learn how their voices can make a real impact - both in nonprofit work and in shaping our democracy. After the event we will spend time highlighting upcoming volunteer opportunities and share information about upcoming elections. The event is hosted by the Student Leadership, Involvement, and Community Engagement Office at UNL.
