About the exhibition: The Glories of Nature
The works shown in this exhibit are done by members of the Great Plains Chapter of the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators (GNSI, Inc., www.gnsi.org). The GNSI is an international organization dedicated to visual science communication and natural science illustration that was established in the 1960s in the National Museum of Natural History, part of the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C.
When at work, GNSI-Great Plains members create accurate scientific illustrations for researchers, infographics to explain natural phenomena or scientific principles, visual science communications, or art to support museums or conservation work. When not working, our members sketch and create art to celebrate the glories of the natural world around them and express the meaning and wonder it holds for them.
