The Agronomy Youth Field Day is a great opportunity for youth of all ages interested in exploring the science of soil management and crop production. Through hands-on activities, youth can learn about seed production, hybrids, plant growth stages, and crop nutrients. Participants will practice weed identification and inspect a field for insect damage. Youth will also have the opportunity to explore the tools and technology of agronomy, such as the use of drones and sensors in irrigation management. Youth will have the opportunity to explore career opportunities and learn from experts in the field, including Nebraska Extension cropping and water systems faculty, University of Nebraska-NCTA agronomy scientists, and Bayer U.S. crop scientists.

Registration is free, and lunch will be provided by Ag Valley Co-op. Register by June 30 at go.unl.edu/agronomy-youth-field-day.
