SUMMARY:Production and Management Lessons\: UNL TAPS Review 2021
STATUS:CONFIRMED
DESCRIPTION:With\: Matt Stockton\, Agricultural Economics Specialist\, Nebr
aska Extension\n\nJoin us for a review of results and findings from this y
ear’s UNL TAPS competitions and gain insight on new ideas\, techniques\,
practices and technology for managing an agricultural production business
.\n\nThe University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s TAPS program (Testing Ag Perfo
rmance Solutions) provides opportunities for competitors to benchmark farm
management skills\, both business and production.\n\nTAPS uniquely create
s an environment where participants have freedom and incentives to explore
farm management topics specific to their needs and wants. We have seen pr
oducers change their thinking and practices as they grow in their abilitie
s to manage their operation\, increase in their understanding of the relat
ionship of the business and production sides of farming. All the TAPS comp
onents\, competition\, experiential learning\, pier to pier interaction an
d social reinforcement result in deep reflective moments and openness to n
ew thoughts and ideas and solidification of know how.\n\nTAPS is now open
to enrollment for the coming 2022 growing season and people are welcome to
come to are annual banquet and celebration of another successful season o
 f learning.
