What are the implications of labeling a person as disabled? In this workshop we will critically analyze cultural conceptions of disability and how those conceptions impact the experience of disabled students at universities. We will examine the ways in which labels can help facilitate support for students as well as create barriers for them with the goal of helping instructors better support disabled students.
