The Nebraska Game & Parks Commission sponsors the Outdoor Discovery Program for 4-6 grade students in eastern Nebraska. The event invites classrooms of students to learn about multiple environmental and outdoor recreation topics by visiting 5 different stations throughout the day. We are seeking 1 volunteer to help with an activity called “CSI – Critter Scene Investigation”…. Students learn about all the ways we know animals are in the area – tracks, scat, sounds, homes, evidence of eating, body parts, smelling, etc. Then, students are divided into 5 groups. Groups rotate through five wildlife scenes where students have to work together to determine what animals were at each scene and what happened at the scene.
As always, we can provide all materials including all 5 critter scenes. We need a NMN who is enthusiastic and excited about educating kids!
