Working with and writing grants to private foundations differs from federal agencies. To supplement your skills, this workshop will provide in-depth guidance on proposal development for foundations, tips on grantwriting language and writing styles, prospecting foundations, and managing foundation relationships.
Key concepts addressed in the workshop include:
• Developing strong grant proposals
• Prospecting potential funders and partners
• Keys to managing and maintaining grantmaker relationship
This session will be facilitated by Tamela Spicer, program manager, Nonprofit Services, and Teri Behrens, director, Institute for Foundation and Donor Learning, of the Dorothy A. Johnson Center for Philanthropy at Grand Valley State University in Grand Valley, Michigan. The Johnson Center is a university-based center leading a systems-based, comprehensive approach to serving nonprofits, foundations, and others seeking to transform their communities for the public good.
