Could the engineered vehicles in Hayao Miyazaki’s “Castle in the Sky” really work? With the help of UNL’s local engineering professor, Dr. Sanghin Ryu, aka “Professor Otaku”, we’ll explore just how feasible these inventions are! You might be surprised at the outcome. RSVP for the lecture at goo.gl/uACCoE.
Dr. Sangjin Ryu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering at UNL. His research interests lie in the general area of fluid mechanics and cell mechanics, as well as forming connections between Japanese visual pop culture for engineering education. Don’t miss this exciting lecture opportunity that connects science and anime!
(Have you never seen the film or want to revisit it? The Japanese Movie Club will review this film during their meeting on Wednesday, November 28 at 5:30PM in the Kawasaki Reading Room. or you can check out the film from the Kawasaki Reading Room collection.)
