We are excited to invite you to the Rural Drug Addiction Research (RDAR) Center’s Fall Seminar Series on the intersection of substance use and infectious disease in rural southern Illinois, presented by Mai Tuyet Pho and Wiley D. Jenkins.

The event will be held on October 10, 2019 from 3:30pm – 5:00pm in 430G Oldfather Hall. An event flyer is attached.

Dr. Mai Tuyet Pho is an infectious diseases physician and health outcomes researcher. Her work seeks to improve health outcomes and public policy at the intersection of HIV, HCV, and substance use. She served as the Interim Chief Medical Officer at the Illinois Department of Public Health, and is leading multiple efforts around the prevention of opioid overdose and HIV/HCV transmission at the Department.

Dr. Wiley D. Jenkins is currently a Research Associate Professor at the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield, Illinois, where his primary role is Chief Division of Epidemiology and Biostatistics within the Department of Population Science and Policy.His current NIH/NIDA grant is addressing infectious diseases associated with opioid use in rural counties.

The Event is FREE and open to the general public and UNL community. We are looking forward to seeing many of you in October at this special event!
